Founded in 1904 by Roberto Osborne and Agustin Osborne in Sevilla.
The name come from "La Cruz del Campo" which means the Cross in the Field.
Heineken bought the brewery in 2000.
Launced March 2002. Emperor Charles V (Kaiser Carol V) lived his last years in the Monastery San Yuste. He loved the beer "Mechelschen Bruynen" and had it send from Mechelen in Belgium to Yuste in Spain. "Legado de Yuste" is created in memory of Charles V.
